Voted Best Microwaved Indian Meal
The other day I was browsing the web and one thing led to another and I found myself reading about the benefits of a raw food diet. Some people had posted before and after pictures of themselves and raved about how healthy and amazing they felt after going raw. This led me to contemplate for 2 minutes about going raw too.
And then I remembered this:

And this:

When joined with this…

Equals this!

The results are in: This is the best microwaved Indian meal – voted #1 by one special Indian and his gori girlfriend. And this, along with many other cooked meals, is why I will never, ever be able to go raw. You should be able to find the Tandoor Chef meals at Whole Foods, or if your local grocer is hip, possibly there too. We have only been able to find the Kawan Parathas at our local Indo-Pak grocery although I’m sure if you live in the city they will be much easier to come by.
We highly recommend that if you are in a hurry or low on cash and want a great Indian meal, go for these two products! We have found that eating out at an Indian restaurant (although we lack live sitar music) isn’t even as good!
Psst! All above photos were taken with our new Nikon D80 camera. We’re still getting a hang of it, and I have yet to read the manual, (shame shame!) but I’m already loving how the photos turn out. For Christmas, my parents gifted me with a great Casio Exilim that takes wonderful pictures too! So thanks everyone for your wonderful advice on cameras. Great photos makes blogging that much more enjoyable.
Hi! I'm MDG.
I am an American woman in love with an Indian man. I moved to Bangalore, India July 25th, 2010, and am happy to be sharing my experiences with you!
Please don't hesitate to comment or contact me directly. I love both!

Mmmmmmmm that looks so good! I have to look for those at my local Giant store they might carry them or someone might be able to tell me where to get some. As for Raw foods err ummmm that thought never ever crossed my mind I can’t get into just for the reasons tht you show. You and your hunny would be proud of me I cooked my first Indian meal lastnight it was tandoor chicken I did cheat little it was from tandoor kit all I had to do was get lemon juice plan yogurt, onion, chicken and the kit had the rest of the stuff. Neightbors of ours who are Indian I sent some over they told me I did great job and they told me even cooking from kit you can still mess it up I got 10 out of 10 for it. Great photos from your new camera I look foward to seeing more photos
Nice pictures. That must be a good camera. And you’re right, raw food can never beat good paranthas. I’m guilty too.
Enjoy your meal.
Congrats Nicki on making your first Indian meal! Even if it was from a kit, you have surpassed me! I have not attempted to make any homemade Indian food yet. BUT, I did buy a wonderful picture recipe book that I promise I will crack into one day!
Ramit, I have ordered parathas in Indian restaurants and they are no where near as good as these stove top ones. Have you had these before or do you make your own homemade ones?
Aww thanks let me know when you try the cook book ones! I will have to look for the parathas when I go food shopping next time
Yeah those Kawan parathas are amazingly good! We get em over here in NZ aswel.
I think the’re exported from Malaysia
Most of you would agree with me if I say that Cooking is an Art, and Indian cooking is something like a canvas painted by an artist in bright and aromatic colors of spices. Indian cuisines are very colorful and tastes delicious. The look of the dish is superb. The moment you look at them you feel hungry. These dishes make you drool and go crazy. India is a land of “Unity in Diversity”, so is the case with food. The list of Indian delicacies is endless but Today I will be suggesting to you 30 different Indian Delicacies for 30 days of the month ( starters , main course and desserts ) . I bet no cuisine in this world can match Indian food in terms of taste , richness of ingredients and quality !

The title of the post is very appropriate. But it’s not just that. It is even better than a lot of Indian restaurants. I’ve been to many Indian restaurants in the US and mostly I’ve had bad experiences especially when it comes to the non-veg Indian cuisine.
This is something easy to make and it tastes very good. Eating the “Tandoor Chef-Indian Curry” is not as good as eating authentic Indian food in India but its close.
I love it. And the best part is MDG bought this for the first time. I always used to buy Paneer Butter Masala, Shahi Paneer, Palak Paneer, Dal etc. but now I always buy this one and I hardly buy my usual anymore.
I tried to find this at our local Whole Foods but to no avail. However, I discovered meals from Cafe Spice (which is an upscale Indian restaurant in Philly) in the prepared food section. They might carry them at Whole Foods near you, you should check em out!
I have a very funny Paratha anecdote to share!
Last night, dbf took me to an indo-pak store in W. Philly he used to frequent as a student, specifically for their parathas. The place was anything but fancy but I was delighted to try something new. We he ordered 3 parathas and the cook came out with 1 for me and 2 for him, which is fine cause I DEFINITELY couldn’t eat 2! Well as I was finishing my first and he was well into his second, he gave me a large piece of his. When I bit into it, its was considerably spicier than mine. The cook took a good look at this gori and un-desified my paratha for me!!!
Jubeee! Thanks for sharing your story! It was hilarious! I find most Indian restaurants in the states never to be spicy enough. I even have MIM tell them I really like it spicy. Still, it’s usually pretty bland.
In that case we ask for the masala spice and put it on ourselves!
Oho….. every time I see this post I become hungry. So me going to eat and no more commenting
Ciao!
