About

It seems I am always updating this “about me” page! It is true to my life, which is always in a state of constant change as well. My Indian Love started as a site about well, what else? – my relationship with an Indian man. But now, I am about to begin an amazing adventure in India, and feel it is more practical to direct this blog towards my experiences. Just a tad bid over a year from the day I started this relationship blog, it has now transitioned into an expat blog. My trip to India will begin July 25th, 2010, five days after my 28th birthday. :)

I try to live my life by this quote:

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover. — Mark Twain

Come explore, dream, and discover along with me!

Where to begin? The Monthly Archives page lists each of my posts by title and is a great place to find what you’re looking for quickly. You can also use the search box which will bring up all articles that contain your keyword.

Thank you for stopping by, I hope you stay awhile!

  • Hi Allison
you are about to leave your familiar surroundings and enter a new world. Congratulations for your bravery!
I am a German-American woman (47)who met an Indian man 7 years ago and I left a good job and my familiar world behind to be with him 5 years ago. We got married last year.
If you like to you can email me to tell me how things are going for you, or if you have problems (it wont be easy once the honeymoon is over :-) we can share a bit. It is always good to know like-minded people or other women going through similar life stages.
All the best to you. Kind regards, tina in Delhi

  • Stacia Neale

    Hi MGD,

My name is Stacia and I’m about to embark on a similar adventure. While I’ll be taking my Canadian love with me, I will be moving to Bangalore on the 8th of October for a year or two, to work on the largest preventative health care project in the world. While I’ve been to India before, I’ve never been to Karnataka and I appreciate your posts and information about what to see in the region.

Maybe we could meet up some time? While I know 3 people who live in Bangalore, it would be nice to visit with another North American from time to time. Also, my partner will be traveling to ashrams and retreats all over the country so there will be some times when I am all alone as well.

I admire your courage as I wonder about my own. Congratulations for putting yourself out in the world in the pursuit of something so noble and grand.

    Best regards,
    Stacia
